Long story short, the races and concours were absolutely fantastic. I’ve got about 200 images to share, so I’ll be posting in installments over the next few days so as not to melt your routers and/or the Kinja Servers. Here’s the first 50 pics. Enjoy!

Part 2 is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Part 3 is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and Part 4 is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

If those headlights in the lead image don’t make you giggle, you are an inhuman monster.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The Paddocks were open to the public, even during races. It was hard to get good pictures with all the people milling around.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

It was amazing how many nearly priceless cars were left mostly unattended.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Tach is sideways. Someone explain.

Kinja'd!!!

I can’t believe that side seat was allowed.

Kinja'd!!!

This wasn’t even on display, it was just parked in the paddocks.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Again, completely unattended.

Sir Stirling Moss and Jochen Mass were both present, and did some parade laps in the Silver Arrows. They also had them both on the loudspeakers during the whole event, during the concours the announcer asked Moss to choose a favorite car from the entrants and he responded with “Well I quite like... the Ben & Jerry’s truck!”

They were talking about these bikes on the PA at one point, they said the MV Agusta was valued at somewhere around $1.3 million.

Coming from the pedestrian bridge, it was in the “block” before the tent with the Abarth and XKE Racers.

The tach is turned so the rpm you want is straight up—or some other place you can see real quick at a glance.

Tach is sideways. Someone explain.

They usually rotate the tach so the redline is at 12:00 (or another location easily seen at a glance) However, that redline seems to be set at idle, and there are no rev marks at 12:00.

Beats me.

That’s a race-prepped 308 with a 288 bodykit.

It’s still a neato Ferrari with race history (I believe it was IMSA) but it’s no GTO

Tach reading can be seen through the steering wheel when the needle approaches the rev limit. Assuming the limit is in the 6k or 7k range.

Brabham? I know the Gold Leaf livery next to it is Lotus.

I don’t remember but that green with gold nose & stripe is a Lotus livery.

Brabham had a similar stripe that tapered from the intake on the BT24 though it was more of an old gold than Lotus’ yellow gold. Thing is I just don’t recall seeing a Lotus or Brabham of the 1960s having that sort of aero on the nose. Perhaps its an F2 or F3 car.

Most likely, due to the way the wheel is placed, they’ve got the tach clocked so redline/shift point is at either 6 (if it’s a big enigne) or 9 o’clock (if it’s a little revvy engine) position.

Most often, the tach is rotated so the power band of the engine is between “10” and “2” o’clock, (As in the face of a clock) since this is generally the area of the gauge that is easiest to see at a glance. My guess on this tach, is because of the steering wheel, you can’t see 10-2 o’clock, but you can see the bottom, which would be 4-8 o’clock and that is the power band for this engine.
